ABOUT

Golden Canaries is a museum installation in collaboration between the Smithsonian and the American Jazz Museum for Women's History Month. The exhibit will focus on the significant role of Black female musicians during midcentury America and their influence on the genre of jazz. By combining artistic expression, sensory experiences, and historical education, visitors can expect to gain a deeper understanding and appreciation of the social and cultural impact of jazz music.
