GOLDEN CANARIES: THE BURNING VOICES OF WOMEN IN JAZZ

Golden Canaries is a captivating museum installation in collaboration between the Smithsonian and the American Jazz Museum for Women's History Month. The exhibit will focus on the significant role of Black female musicians during midcentury America and their influence on the genre of jazz. By combining artistic expression, sensory experiences, and historical education, visitors can expect to gain a deeper understanding and appreciation of the social and cultural impact of jazz music. This exhibition offers a unique opportunity to celebrate the achievements of these groundbreaking musicians and recognize their contributions to American culture.

The project scope included advertising materials, tickets, books, as well as a scale model and rendering of the museum exhibit. The development of a strong branding system for the exhibit was crucial to the success of the entire project.
